After a major rally earlier this week, Bitcoin has come to a standstill. Meanwhile, the spotlight has shifted to Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is in the red, while Ethereum has surged to its highest price in weeks.
BTC Hits Resistance #
Bitcoin is struggling to break the $94,000 barrier. The price has tapped this level three times, only to be rejected each time.
Yesterday morning, the level was touched for the first time since November 17. This marked a significant rise from $91,000 the night before, so a breather wasn’t entirely unexpected.
Initially, Bitcoin dipped to $93,000 and hovered around that level until about 15:00 UTC. Then, volatility picked up, but the price eventually found its way back up.
Around midnight, a first attempt was made to break $94,000, followed by another a few hours later. But sellers aren’t letting the price pass easily.

The price is now near the level where it rebounded overnight. If that fails, it could dip further toward $92,000, where it found support twice during the day.
Bitcoin is now trading just below its 2025 opening price of around $93,400, intensifying the battle between buyers and sellers.
At the time of writing, the BTC price on OKX is $93,051. On the Dutch exchange Bitvavo, the BTC price in euros is €79,801. BTC is down 0.78% over the past 24 hours.
Ethereum Rises Nearly 4% #
Ethereum is significantly outperforming Bitcoin today. The largest altcoin is up a notable 3.77%. Overnight, it reached its highest price since November 16 at $3,240.
Ethereum has even broken out against Bitcoin in its chart. Since August, the price had repeatedly hit a descending trendline, but it has now climbed above it.

This suggests Ethereum could regain more ground against Bitcoin in the coming period, potentially translating into stronger performance.
Other coins aren’t faring as well today. BNB is up 0.61%, Solana 0.18%, and Cardano 1.03%. Ripple and Dogecoin are both down, by 1.52% and 0.75%, respectively.
