With the new year on the horizon, a crypto expert predicts massive changes for the crypto world. Crypto networks will disappear, new trends will emerge, but according to the expert, the bull market is certainly not over yet.

Many Crypto Networks Will Disappear #
Where the crypto world once started with Bitcoin, there are now all sorts of blockchains. According to an expert, this is not sustainable, and not every network is worth anything.
In a recent interview with Altcoin Daily, crypto expert and BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes shares his vision for the coming crypto year.
“Aside from Ethereum and Solana, almost every other Layer-1 network is a zero,” the expert states.
Layer-1 blockchains are base networks, like Ethereum. This is infrastructure on which all kinds of crypto platforms can be built. Every year, dozens of new Layer-1 networks emerge with promising stories, but according to Hayes, they will not all survive.
Although he sees potential in Solana, just as he does in Ethereum, he acknowledges that the network owes its popularity mainly to the hype surrounding memecoins in recent years. These are coins based on, for example, an internet sensation. The memecoin market is no longer what it once was.
“Solana needs to come up with something new,” says Hayes.
The Bull Market Is Not Over Yet #
A lot will change, but Hayes does not believe that a bear market is imminent. This is a period in which crypto prices fall, alternating with a bull market in which prices rise. According to Hayes, the bull market will continue for some time.
“I think the real fireworks are yet to begin in terms of asset potential,” says Hayes.
The reason Hayes does not expect the end of the bull market has been reached is the political situation in the United States. He predicts that U.S. President Donald Trump will print a lot of money to try to win the elections in 2026. This will stimulate bitcoin in the short term, as well as other cryptocurrencies and markets.
These Will Be the New Trends in 2026 #
The past year was dominated by various narratives, including the trend around artificial intelligence (AI). As a result, AI cryptocurrencies and projects have performed well. In the coming year, the focus will lie elsewhere, Hayes thinks.
“I think the privacy narrative will become big,” the expert predicts.
Hayes sees that people are afraid of the risks of emerging technologies like quantum computers. Partly for this reason, cryptocurrencies and projects focused on privacy and security will do well next year, according to Hayes.
The privacy cryptocurrency Zcash could also play a major role in the new year. Whether this prediction from Hayes will come true in the near future remains to be seen. Zcash is currently in heavy weather. In the past 14 days, the price has fallen by 50 percent. Time will tell for ZEC.
