Max Verstappen earns sums that for most people only exist in a lottery. He earns nearly €5 million a month, more than the grand prize in many lotteries.
Of course, he’s also fast on the track, but if we try to match his speed, we’d get a ticket!
That doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s one of the best athletes in the Netherlands. So what does he earn and for what?
How Much Max Verstappen Earned in 2025 #
Max earned approximately €65 million last year, according to Forbes.
His guaranteed income is about €5 million per month, which his team Red Bull Racing pays for his services.
Whether he finishes first or last in a race, this base salary remains unchanged. On top of that, bonuses and premiums that do depend on his performance further increase his total income.
This makes him the highest-paid driver in the world. That’s not surprising, as he was Formula 1 world champion for four consecutive years.
This year he started with a huge deficit to Norris and Piastri of the McLaren team, but he managed to make it incredibly exciting in the final race, which he won.
Because Norris made a strong comeback and finished third, he ultimately stayed two points ahead of Verstappen and clinched the world title. Verstappen therefore has to settle for second place in the championship.
Other Income, Including Crypto #
Max’s contract runs until 2028, so his base salary will remain fixed during that time.
That works out to about €150,000 to €180,000 per day, which is equivalent to roughly two Bitcoin. Per minute, he earns over €120—not bad at all.
He also regularly appears in commercials, such as for Jumbo, where he delivers groceries from his race car. He also does ads for Heineken 0.0, Gillette, EA Sports / F1 Games, and of course as the face of Red Bull.
With these endorsements, Verstappen secures an additional €5 to €10 million in income. He has also done commercials for crypto exchanges like Bybit and for Cash App, in which he explains Bitcoin.
With all this income, his net worth has doubled in a few years. In 2023, his net worth was around €125 million; now Max is worth over €260 million. This makes him the youngest (28) member of the Quote 500, landing him at spot 264.
His net worth also grows quickly because he doesn’t have to pay income tax, given that he lives in Monaco.
