Max Verstappen isn’t just a dominant force on the track; financially, he’s leaving everyone in the dust as well. As the face of Red Bull Racing, the three-time world champion has signed a contract that makes him the highest-paid driver on the grid in 2025. But how much actually ends up in his bank account, and what does that amount to per race this season?
What Verstappen Earns in 2025 #
According to the latest publicly available data, Verstappen’s base salary is a staggering €55.9 million per year. It’s important to note that this figure excludes any potential sponsorship deals and performance bonuses, meaning the total picture in reality is even higher.
Breaking down this dizzying figure reveals some almost surreal numbers:
- Per month: €4,644,000
- Per day: €153,080
- Per minute: €106.30
Simply put: in the time it takes you to read this article, Verstappen has already earned a few hundred euros, whether he’s sleeping, racing, or sitting on the couch.
What Does Verstappen Earn Per Grand Prix in 2025? #
The Formula 1 season is a grueling series of races. With the current calendar consisting of no less than 24 races, it’s interesting to calculate what the Dutch driver earns per race weekend.
Dividing his base salary of €55.9 million by the 24 Grand Prix results in a figure of €2,329,166 per race.
Whether he wins, retires with an engine failure, or gets caught up in a crash; every time the lights go out at the start, Verstappen is guaranteed over €2.3 million.
With that, Verstappen could theoretically buy almost 30 bitcoins. Whether Verstappen actually owns any bitcoins is unknown. However, the Dutch driver has had various crypto platforms as sponsors, so it’s not a far-fetched thought!
F1 Climax in Abu Dhabi #
Despite these astronomical sums, for Verstappen, it all boils down to one thing: the world title. All eyes are on the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The fight isn’t over yet, but the cards are stacked against him. Verstappen still has a chance to defend his title, although in reality, it will be difficult. A small miracle in the Abu Dhabi desert will be needed to beat the competition, including Lando Norris.
