Environmental Taxes Continue to Rise – Dutch Households Bear the Brunt
Dutch households paid 17 billion euros in environmental taxes in 2024, a 12% increase from the previous year, despite temporary tax reductions. The biggest cost items were energy taxes and vehicle tax, and without the temporary reductions, the burden would have been even higher.
